The latest update released for Counter-Strike 2 brings significant technical improvements, particularly for map developers and modders. The update includes new tools that simplify map manipulation via VScript and introduces enhanced console management features.

Map Scripting and Developer Tools

The CSPrecache and CSHostage objects have been added to the system for map developers. These allow for new functions to track hostage states—such as being grabbed, carried, or rescued—and to manage precache operations. Furthermore, controls such as starting/ending warmup periods, managing team scores, and adjusting round timers are now more accessible via the GameRules structure.

Console and HUD Updates

A new top-level export named Console has been defined for console commands. Reading and setting Convar values is now more flexible; the Console.SetConvar command can now operate synchronously without being restricted by sv_cheats. On the HUD side, new layout classes have been added for team menus and chat visibility, while radar elements are now functional across all game modes.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a crash issue in the GameRules.AddTeamMoney function.
  • Corrected type definitions for CSTeamMoneyReason and CSWeaponAttackType enums.
  • Resolved an issue where CSRadarPoint.IsVisibleToTeam and CSObservablePoint.IsObservableForTeam functions returned incorrect data types.
  • Added JavaScript call stacks and error argument details to daily warning logs.
  • Improved auto-completion features for the map_workshop command.
