PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS Announces 2027 Esports Structure

PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS is implementing a comprehensive restructuring to increase competition within its esports ecosystem starting in 2027. The new system will reorganize regional leagues, introduce a four-phase calendar that spans the entire year, and launch a new scoring mechanism.

Innovations in Regional League Structure

As of 2027, existing regions will be expanded, and a new participation region will be added. The EMEA region will be split into three parts: Europe, Eurasia, and MENA, while the Americas will be divided into North America and South America. Additionally, India is being added to the system as a new competitive region. All teams aiming to qualify for the PGS must prove their success by competing in their respective regional leagues.

Four-Phase Tournament System

The new calendar will consist of four separate phases (Phase 1-4) throughout the year. Each phase will include its own regional league followed by a PUBG Global Series (PGS) tournament. While each phase offers teams a new chance to reach the global stage, participation in one phase does not guarantee a spot in the next. Furthermore, the Global Partner Team (GPT) program will transition into a partnership focused on in-game items and marketing; everyone, including these teams, must earn their PGS participation through league performance.

New PUBG Esports Scoring System

Previous scoring systems are being replaced by "PUBG Esports Points." Points will now be awarded solely based on PGS performance. These points accumulated throughout the year will serve as the primary factor for PGC qualification.

2027 Esports Calendar

• Phase 1 and Phase 2 regional leagues will take place in the first half of the year.
• The 2027 PUBG Nations Cup will be held in July.
• Phase 3 and Phase 4 leagues will continue in the second half of the year.
