Cat Isle released for PC and Mac

Developed by independent game studio Tiny Tail, Cat Isle was released on Steam for PC and Mac on July 20, 2026.

Created by a two-person indie team, the title stands out with its relaxing atmosphere, pixel art style, light management mechanics, and decoration system. The Tiny Tail team consists of Domke Games and PixelDuckoo.

The development process for Cat Isle took approximately one year, and the game targets players who enjoy slow-paced "cozy" titles.

Inspired by Japan's cat islands

The core concept of Cat Isle is inspired by the famous cat islands in Japan.

As players develop their own islands, they can establish various shops, observe the preferences of the cats, and customize the environment with a variety of decorations.

The management aspect is kept quite light. While checking store stock and understanding the needs of the cats is important, the development team has focused the experience more on relaxation, decoration, fishing, and interacting with the cats.

Includes over 100 decorations

One of the standout features of Cat Isle is its decoration system.

The game contains over 100 hand-drawn pixel decorations. Players can use these items to shape the interiors of their shops and the overall appearance of the island according to their personal taste.

New decorations are unlocked via a Gashapon machine. Through this system, players earn new ornaments at random and can build their own decoration collections over time.

Four distinct chapters and a Sandbox mode

Cat Isle consists of a total of four chapters, each offering different goals and themes.

Each chapter presents players with different tasks while the island continues to grow and change as they progress.

In addition to the main chapters, there is also a Sandbox mode for those who prefer to play more freely.

According to information shared by the development team, Cat Isle offers approximately 2 to 4 hours of core gameplay. With the sandbox and decoration systems, this playtime can extend depending on the player's style.

Features 17 different buildings

There are a total of 17 different buildings in the game.

These structures help players transform their island into a small town over time. Managing shops, meeting the cats' demands, and choosing decorations directly influence how the island develops.

Interaction with cats is the focus

Cat Isle does not focus solely on city-building and management mechanics.

Players can observe the cats on the island, interact with them, and watch as the world they create comes to life over time.

This approach ensures that the game offers a more serene and relaxing experience rather than that of a classic management simulation.

An indie project from a small team

Behind Cat Isle is the two-person team at Tiny Tail.

Founded by Domke Games and PixelDuckoo, the team developed the project independently and brought it to Steam. The game's genre is described by the developers as Cozy, Casual, Management, and City Builder.

Cat Isle is currently available for play by PC and Mac users via Steam.
