Dota 2: The International 2026 Champion Crowned
After a challenging year, Team Spirit defeated Team Vision in the The International 2026 final in Shanghai to hoist the Aegis of Champions.
The International 2026, the most prestigious tournament in the world of Dota 2, has concluded with a breathtaking final series. After a rollercoaster year, Team Spirit managed to climb back to the top with a monumental performance on the main stage in Shanghai. Facing off against Team Vision, a team that had demonstrated utter dominance over their opponents throughout the tournament, Spirit claimed the championship following a legendary five-game Grand Finals showdown.
A Difficult Path to the Summit
The tournament did not start easily for Team Spirit. Although they found morale with clear victories against Xtreme Gaming and Aurora Gaming in the group stage, they struggled to secure a direct spot on the main stage. Losses against Team Vision and Nigma Galaxy pushed them into the lower bracket. However, this difficult process increased the team's discipline and level of resilience. Writing an incredible comeback story through the lower bracket, Spirit eliminated giants such as Team Liquid, BoomBoys, and Team Yandex to reach the grand final.
An Unforgettable Grand Final
The opponent waiting for them in the final was Team Vision, who had not lost a single series throughout the tournament. Spirit took the lead in the first leg of the five-game series, but faced resistance from Vision in the second game, which leveled the score. When the series reached 2-2 with exchanged victories, fans witnessed one of the most tense moments in Dota 2 history. In the final game, which lasted over an hour, Team Spirit perfectly combined the individual talents of Yatoro, Collapse, and Larl with team play, nullifying all of their opponent's moves to reach the Aegis of Champions. With this victory, Team Spirit has once again etched its name in golden letters into the history of Dota 2.
