As the biggest tournament for Dota 2, The International, approaches, team supporter packs, updated prediction systems, and brand-new rewards have been added to the game.
As a Dota 2 community, we have finally entered the most exciting period of the year. Following Team Falcons' victory last year, all eyes are now on Shanghai. With only two weeks remaining until The International, Valve has released a new content update that brings the tournament excitement directly into the game. This update offers comprehensive opportunities to support the 16 participating teams, as well as talented casters, along with fun new mechanics.
Support Your Team and Grab Exclusive Rewards
This year's supporter packs are packed with rich content. Alongside the packs prepared for each of the 16 teams, support options are also available for over a hundred tournament talents. 50% of the revenue from these sales goes directly to the team or individual, while 30% contributes to the tournament prize pool. When you purchase a supporter pack, you can acquire various cosmetics such as in-game sprays, health bar badges, emojis, and chat wheel phrases. Specifically, the new global effigy system included in the 'Gold' tier packs allows you to demonstrate your loyalty to your team in your base until the end of September.
Predictions and the New Fantasy Mode
If you enjoy making predictions, The International predictions are back! In this system, where you can predict everything from the Swiss-style matches to the main bracket, no one has managed to achieve a perfect score so far. Don't forget to complete your predictions before the first match kicks off on August 13. Furthermore, the Fantasy system has undergone a major overhaul. You can now assign special modifiers yourself as a coach and build your team more strategically. With the changes to drafting rules, you will need to choose your support players, lane players, and mid-lane stars more tactically than ever before.
Rewards and Tyrian Regalia
Great rewards await players who are confident in their performance. Just like last year, the rewards distributed based on player performance include the 'Tyrian Regalia' treasure, which contains five revamped Immortal items. Additionally, the new 'Terrain Token' offered to high-performing players gives them the chance to select one of the beloved legacy map themes, such as Reef's Edge or Immortal Gardens. Don't forget to check the 'Rewards' section in the in-game menu for the detailed reward table and participation requirements.
