Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, developed by Activision and Infinity Ward, marks a significant comeback in the gaming world. With this long-awaited development, the series is finally returning to Nintendo platforms. Nintendo Switch 2 users will have the chance to experience the game's content for free thanks to the beta process starting this Friday, August 28, in the evening hours.

During the beta, which will continue throughout the weekend, players will be able to test a portion of the single-player campaign, multiplayer modes, and the popular battle royale experience, Warzone. In particular, the hardware advantages offered by the Nintendo Switch 2 are evident in the game's control mechanisms. The development team aims to optimize the handheld experience by adding gyro controls and mouse-like precision aiming via the Joy-Cons, specifically for the Switch 2. Additionally, players will have free access to Vault Edition-exclusive weapon skins and blueprints throughout the beta.

The Development Process of Digital Legends

The Switch 2 version of the game is being developed by the studio Digital Legends, which previously worked on the Warzone Mobile project and provided technical support for the last two Black Ops games. Studio head Xavier Carrillo-Costa expressed his pride in bringing the series to a Nintendo platform after more than a decade, emphasizing that their goal is to provide a seamless and complete Call of Duty experience. Due to Microsoft's 10-year legal agreement with Nintendo, the Switch 2 version of the game shows full parity with content on other platforms, meaning there are no restrictions or missing features.

The beta, which is now available for pre-load on the Switch 2, will show how the series is received by Nintendo fans. This technical achievement of Modern Warfare 4 serves as an important indicator for the future of large-scale third-party titles on Nintendo's new generation hardware.
