An interesting development has emerged from Rockstar Games regarding the long-awaited Grand Theft Auto 6. Although the company previously announced that it would not be selling a physical disk for the game itself, it has prepared a wide-ranging physical collection for the official soundtrack, titled "Grand Theft Auto 6: The Album." The album, produced in collaboration between Rockstar Games and Atlantic Records, will be released on November 19, coinciding with the game's launch on digital storefronts.

Special Editions and Content Details for Collectors

It has been announced that the album will be available in several formats. A standard double CD version will hit shelves with a price tag of $20, while the double LP vinyl version will be priced at $50. However, the detail that has captured the most attention from collectors is the limited-edition vinyl set, priced at $125. This special set features two clear magenta-colored records filled with blue liquid, accompanied by custom-designed artwork. Pre-orders for all versions are currently open.

Initial details regarding the album's content have also been shared. Following teasers on Spotify and social media posts from stars like Travis Scott and Keith Richards, it has been confirmed that these artists are featured on the album. A total of 6 songs, including Travis Scott's "RHYNO" and Keith Richards' "Bright Lights, Big City," are already available to stream on digital platforms. It is stated that the album will contain a total of 34 tracks, with the remaining 28 songs to be revealed in the coming days.

This development has been met with irony within the gaming community. Rockstar Games' decision not to release GTA 6 on a physical disc had previously drawn backlash from fans. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick argued in a statement last month that physical discs no longer make sense for today's consumers. The fact that players, who cannot purchase the game itself in a physical format, will be able to add the soundtrack to their physical collections creates a striking contradiction.
