The Elder Scrolls Online Is Being Given Away Free With a Fantasy Novel

Gaming giant Bethesda has announced an intriguing collaboration that brings literature enthusiasts and gamers together. In partnership with British publisher Tor, the company has begun offering the PC version of The Elder Scrolls Online for free with every physical copy of "Brigands & Breadknives," the third book in Travis Baldree's popular "Legends and Lattes" series.

A Gift of a Game with Every Book

The Elder Scrolls Online, a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) that has been running continuously for nearly 12 years, is typically sold for a fee on digital platforms. However, as part of this campaign, codes providing access to the game are included inside novels purchased from major chain stores like Waterstones and Foyles, as well as independent bookstores across the United Kingdom. Publisher Tor has confirmed that these codes are also valid for purchases made via Amazon. It is worth noting that the campaign is limited to the first 10,000 registrations and that readers must activate their codes on Tor’s dedicated page.

It is not just the game itself, but also in-game content that awaits readers. Users who shop at local bookstores can also receive branded bookmarks containing an additional code that unlocks a special pet called the "Pink Torchbug," which can be used in the world of The Elder Scrolls Online. Bethesda and Tor describe this partnership as a meeting point designed for "cozy fantasy lovers and gamers."

Despite more than a decade having passed since its release, The Elder Scrolls Online continues to be supported with updates and expansion packs. Bethesda, now under the Xbox umbrella, states that the game's future is secure and that support for this live-service title continues alongside other studio projects such as the Fallout series and The Elder Scrolls 6. For those who love both reading and seeking adventure in the lands of Tamriel, this campaign stands out as a highly advantageous opportunity.
