Approaching the survival-crafting genre with an unconventional, charming, yet perilous atmosphere, Zeverland promises players a fully customizable world. The game takes place in a world where the zombie apocalypse has been underway for several months. In this title, where you can explore diverse buildings ranging from police stations to hospitals, it is possible to interact with almost every object you find in the environment. The most striking aspect of the game is its deep crafting system; for example, you can attach an iron to a tennis racket to turn it into a lethal weapon or mount a camera onto a baseball bat to deliver electric attacks. Vehicles, which you can transform into your own mobile bases, can be customized in similar ways; you can add a bed to your vehicle or mount spiked attack apparatuses to the front to mow down hordes of zombies.

Sandbox-Style Cooperation and Community-Driven Experience

Zeverland was initially announced as an open-world MMO where players could sabotage one another. However, based on feedback from playtests conducted in June, the game underwent a major design shift, transforming into a PvE-focused cooperative experience. Lead designer Cecilia Pan explains the logic behind this change: "When a natural disaster occurs, humanity chooses to stand together. We wanted to build a system where players use their creativity to solve survival challenges and cooperate to take the world back from zombies." Unlike the static narrative flows of traditional cooperative games, Zeverland offers a system of mutual aid entirely based on player choices. Projects such as giving fuel to a stranded player, teaming up with friends to restore electricity to a city, or building a bridge over a river form the core of the game's sandbox structure. Having completed two successful playtests so far, the team aims to bring Zeverland to players via Steam Early Access in the first quarter of 2025.
