Apex Legends: Major Blow to Cheaters and New Anti-Cheat Update
Apex Legends has launched a major operation against cheaters by implementing new systems that detect unauthorized controller software and hardware.

The walls are closing in on cheaters in the world of Apex Legends. To preserve the competitive integrity of the game, the development team has rolled out a comprehensive new anti-cheat system covering both PC and all console platforms (PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch). This technology, which has been in testing for some time, can now much more accurately detect third-party controller modifications, custom software, and banned hardware used by players to gain an unfair advantage. The developers specifically emphasized that console players are not exempt from these checks, issuing a stern warning for those using such tools to clear their systems.
Thousands of Accounts Banned in the Last Week
The activation of the new system has resulted in a severe ban wave. In the last seven days alone, a total of 8,609 players have been permanently banned for cheating. Looking at the details of these bans, it is evident that 290 individuals were using DMA (Direct Memory Access) methods, 76 were utilizing banned hardware like the Titan Controller, and 267 were linked to a newly identified cheat provider. This cleanup process, which also targeted players at the very top of the competitive arena, resulted in 96 Predator-tier players being banned in the last two weeks.
The anti-cheat team has successfully reduced the rate of cheaters in matches from 5.7% at the beginning of the season to 3.9%. However, this is just the beginning. The developers state that they are constantly updating their current systems and remain vigilant against emerging cheating methods. Operating under the vision that "Apex Legends must remain fair," the team appears determined to weed out cheaters at every level of play, including high-ranked lobbies. If you encounter any suspicious activity during the game, you can continue to be a part of this fight by using the reporting system.
