Apex Legends: New Matchmaking Test Live
Apex Legends has launched a new queue time test aimed at ensuring more balanced lobby matchmaking for Platinum rank and above.

With the latest update released for Apex Legends, a new matchmaking test has been initiated that will impact players in the Platinum rank and above. This adjustment covers all platforms and regions.
Balance and gameplay changes
Under the new test, maximum wait times have been increased to prevent high-ranked players from spreading into mid-level lobbies and to create a fairer competitive environment. This time increase is designed to scale based on the player's rank; specifically, Masters tier players may encounter additional wait times of up to 30 seconds during matchmaking.
The primary goal of the system is to give the matchmaker time to build more ideal lobbies and to group players of the closest possible skill levels together before expanding the search pool. This testing process will remain active until the end of the season or until sufficient data has been gathered.
