Counter-Strike 2: Retakes Mode and Map Adjustments Now Live
A new update released for Counter-Strike 2 speeds up bomb defusal mechanics in the Retakes mode and adds new tools for map scripting.

Counter-Strike 2 has released an update that improves the Retakes mode and brings new scripting features for map developers.
Retakes Mode Adjustments
In Retakes mode, the bomb defusal process has been updated to complete instantly if there is enough time remaining in the round and no active utility is present to interrupt the defusal. Additionally, the freeze time and round restart delay in Retakes mode have been shortened.
As a fun detail, pinging chickens during freeze time will now cause them to perform a trick. When personalized item descriptions are hidden, chicken names will no longer be displayed.
Map Scripting and Developer Tools
New commands and adjustments have been added for map creators:
- Instance.Precache can now cache assets.
- New functions like Entities.Spawn and Instance.OnBotControl have been added.
- Control and reset methods have been introduced to the CSPlayerController and CSPlayerPawn classes.
- Commands such as Entities.FireInput, Entities.FindByName, and Entities.FindByClass have been renamed and relocated, while old methods have been deprecated.
- Warning systems have been improved for operations performed on invalid entities.
