Minecraft: Java Edition 26.3

Wilderness Bound is out now in Minecraft Java Edition! Pack your supplies and set off on an expedition into the dappled forest where the trails end and adventure begins. Seek out abandoned camps, build outposts among the poplar trees, sleep under the stars on straw beds, and share campfire stories atop cushions. Just remember that the wilderness rewards the prepared—and maps are lighter than regrets! Happy camping!

New Features

Added Dappled Forest Biome, Poplar Trees, fallen Poplar Trees, Red/Orange/Yellow Poplar Leaves blocks, Poplar wood set, Shelf Mushrooms, Red Shrubs, Abandoned Camp structures, new Explorer Maps, Cushions, and Straw Beds. Added Wool Stairs and Slabs for all Wool blocks, and Concrete Stairs and Slabs for all Concrete blocks. Players in spectator mode can now interact with portals to teleport. Improvements made to Realms, including the ability to create and manage Invite Codes. Added Gothic language support.

Dappled Forest Biome

A new forest biome found near cold biomes. Poplar Trees and fallen Poplar Trees generate here. Shelf Mushrooms can be found placed on trees. Red Shrubs generate here. The following passive and neutral mobs spawn in the Dappled Forest, using cold variants where applicable: Sheep, Chicken, Cow, Pig, Rabbit, and Fox. Poplar Trees

A new tree type with three color variations: Red, Orange, and Yellow Poplar Leaves. Each variant has matching falling leaf particles. Poplar Leaves drop Poplar Saplings which randomly grow into any of the three variants. Poplar Saplings can be obtained from Wandering Traders. Shelf Mushrooms and Leaf Litter naturally generate around Poplar Trees. Poplar Logs can be crafted into a new wood set.

Shelf Mushroom

A new mushroom that grows on Poplar Trees. Available in small and large sizes. Small Shelf Mushrooms grow into large ones with Bone Meal. Large Shelf Mushrooms drop two items when broken. Can be used for stews and traded with Wandering Traders. They have a slight bounciness and make a sound when stepped on.

Red Shrub

A new decorative plant found in patches in the Dappled Forest. Can be used in the Composter. Applying Bone Meal grows a Red Shrub in an adjacent space.

Abandoned Camp Structure

A new structure found in various biomes, including Meadows, Cherry Groves, Forests, and the Pale Garden. Each biome features a unique design, with some pieces shared across all variants. Abandoned Camps contain various Chests and Barrels with loot.

Cushion

The Cushion is a new item that the player can place in the world and interact with.
